The weather and atmospheric phenomena provide the catalyst for my work, both for content and inspiration. Venturing out after a storm and feeling the first blast of a passing cold front always gives me an enthusiasm to paint.
Although far from ethereal and wonderful, weather conditions are occasionally extreme. However, even when the weather turns destructive and terrible, I'm still awed by the actions of the atmosphere. Many of these paintings are attempts to capture the dynamics, beauty and scale, while others focus on quieter moods.
