This is a painting of the old CRADDOCK & TERRY SHOE COMPANY building in downtown Lynchburg, Virginia. I began this work using a palette knife and painting impasto (thick texture).

The lion looked OK after just a little work but it took me many years to make the rest of the painting convey my original feelings about that street in the late evening sunlight.
